Redis on Wednesday announced an expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy with the acquisition of real-time data platform Decodable and the launch of LangCache, a fully managed semantic caching service.
LangCache is available in public preview starting today. The announcements were made by Redis CEO Rowan Trollope during Redis Released 2025, marking his first visit to India since taking charge.
Trollope said the company’s AI roadmap is focused on providing enterprises and startups with the infrastructure for building reliable agents with persistent memory. “As AI enters its next phase, the challenge isn’t proving what language models can do; it’s giving them the context and memory to act with relevance and reliability,” he said.
Redis’ new LangCache service, now in public preview, stores and retrieves semantically similar calls to large language models (LLMs). The company said LangCache can reduce LLM API costs by up to 70% and deliver 15 times faster response times for cache hits compared to live inference.
“India is not only a fast-growing market for Redis, it is also helping to shape the future of AI,” Trollope said. “With one of the world’s largest startup ecosystems, and millions of developers building intelligent applications, India represents the kind of scale, ambition, and innovation where Redis thrives.”
Redis also announced new integrations with agent frameworks, including AutoGen and Cognee, as well as enhancements to LangGraph. The integrations allow developers to use Redis’ memory layer without writing custom code, simplifying agent and chatbot development.
The company said the Decodable acquisition will strengthen Redis’ ability to support developers building real-time data pipelines. “The strategic investment we made in Decodable’s platform will make it easier for developers to build and expand data pipelines and convert that data into context within Redis,” Trollope said.
Redis emphasised that the updates are aimed at India’s developer ecosystem of over 17 million, where cost optimisation and scalability are critical.
